Winners Named In Lighting Contest In Floresville

Winners of the Christmas Yard Lighting Contest sponsored by the Floresville Chamber Of Commerce were awarded cash prizes to individuals and businesses. First prize $50 to Leon Johnson, second $30 to Eugene Shouse, third $20 to Robert Jackson, with top business honors going to Floresville Electric Light & Power System.

Cub Scouts Hold Reorganizational Meeting Dec 16

The Floresville Cub Scouts held a reorganizational Pack Meeting at Jaycee Hall on December 16, 1969. Cub Master Buddy Howard led the gathering with pledges and Christmas songs. Cubs from Den 1 through Den 3 earned the Bobcat rank after completing required steps, including Keith Howard, Craig Westmoreland, Tod Frick, Darren Sickenius, Gilbert Morales, Rudy Gonzales, Jim Read, Scott Strozier, Dale Wayne Pfiel, Kelvin Henke, Douglas Coates, and Hierholzer, among others.

Falls City student heads A&I group at Texas A&I

Falls City student Mocyzgemba has been elected president of the Texas A&I University chapter of Alpha Tau Alpha for next semester. A senior agriculture mechanization major, he is the son of Mr and Mrs Conrad Moczygembe of Falls City. A clandestine benefactor secretly supplied gold gifts for impoverished spinsters to aid their dowries. He hid the gold by dropping it down a chimney during Christmas Eve, with one noted instance landing in a stocking hung by a fireplace.
