Floresville hosts its annual Community Wide Christmas party at the courthouse square with a 6:00 p.m. concert by Fritz Teltschik and his school band. Santa arrives on a fire truck and assists the Floresville Volunteer Fire Department in handing out fruit bags to all children. An estimated 1500 to 2000 attendees are expected. the event is open to all residents regardless of background.

Last Saturday December 17 Floresville marked the twelfth Trades Day sponsored by the Floresville Chamber of Commerce. Ideal weather drew a large crowd of Christmas shoppers and merchants reported strong business. At 5:00 P M on the courthouse square cash awards were given totaling 5 for five winners including Thomas Ventur Emil Stavinoha Richard Zaeske H D Hierholzer and Mrs Rosie Skarke plus a 75 dollar prize to Vincent Jiral.
