The Flapper Grandmother musical comedy presented at the high school Friday evening drew the largest home audience yet for the talent show. Miss Mar an directed the production for the Producing Co. and received applause for vivid performances by Rochenbare and A-Murray in cross roads scenes. Johnson, a well known local, was noted for strong support as parts were played and the event wrapped with praise for the home talent. About 2,000 bushels or old Mr Johnson 575.

S P Installs New Wig Wag Signal at Crossing

Oscar E. Thomas Dies at 48 in San Antonio
Oscar E. Thomas 48 longtime manager at G A Stowers Furniture Co San Antonio store died Sunday at his West Craig Place home. Born Florence in 1879 he came to San Antonio in 1896 and worked 30 years with Stowers including credit and advertising roles. Survived by widow Mayme Buckley a daughter Elizabeth and three sisters and a brother. Funeral Monday with Rev Paul B Kern officiating and Masonic graveside rites.

The Floresville Cemetery Association met with Mrs. B D Mayes on December 6. Six members and two visitors attended including Mesdames Tee Matlock Price KR D Mayes RC Teas Ww D Murray Sr W M Chappell AN Houston Fitzgerald. A warm room and refreshments made attendees happy. The next meeting will be with Mrs A B Murray on the second Friday in January. Officers will be elected, and Asa provided wood and a large fireplace.

Sunflowers Prove Profitable Crop Near Lamesa
Russian sunflowers planted instead of cotton after mid June on the J I Weaver farm near here yielded over 700 pounds of seed per acre on 400 acres. The crop was threshed like maize and sold for 5 cents a pound to chicken feed mills, grossing about 85 to 40 dollars an acre.
