Bain Martin led as captain with Webbie Reed as co captain while coaches J M Lauderdale and F I Bohmann received recognition from the Athletic Council. John B Wheeler and T W Sutherland also received awards for long service. The event paused memories of key seniors including Martin Baker Denning Wheeler Richardson Steenken.
County results show 1086 in favor and 145 against the Bankhead cotton bill with precinct tallies. Funeral held at home Floresville with Rev A A Carter officiating and interment in Floresville Cemetery.
A man described as Jordan from Maracaibo Venezuela returned to the United States Wednesday night for a three month visit. He plans to travel and spend time in Houston and surrounding areas during the stay.
State Highway Patrol Capt Lee Miller warned against cutting evergreen trees along roadsides. He noted numerous trees have been cut in recent weeks. The patrols are tasked with protecting the highway beautification program of the State Highway Department.
In a letter to Wilson and Karnes county judges the Highway Commission asked to reroute Highway 123 from Stockdale to Yorktown, contingent on both counties agreeing and that the old designation would not be requested again. Commissioner Otto Weber said he would ratify the change if Karnes commissioner Roy Newman did likewise.
The Woman’s Missionary Society reports Week of Prayer for foreign missions held December with programs on December 3 10 and 17. Collections reached 74.13 with many members contributing. Junior Girls Auxiliary met December 10 and 17. Sunbeams organized. Gifts for a single recipient with a Christmas tree surprised the reporter in the Sunday School room, highlighting church fellowship and youth group leadership by Mrs. G W Stephenson and Mrs. W L Doyle.
The Floresville Parent-Teacher Association held a banquet at the Grammar School honoring the 1934 Tiger football team and Coach 8 J Irwin. Guests included Athletic Association members and Mr and Mrs Ward Burris and Ray Neumann.

The infant son of Mr and Mrs N ton Donaho of San Antonio died in that city Wednesday night and was buried in Floresville Cemetery Thursday at 3 o clock. Rev J T Howard pastor of the local Baptist church conducted the rites. The child was about two weeks old and frail throughout its brief life. The community extends sympathy to the parents in their sorrow.
The Floresville public schools will close this afternoon for holidays. Local district officials announced the early dismissal schedule for Friday with no afternoon activities.
