AT3 Robert C. Goode of Floresville returns from Brunswick Georgia on 15 day leave to celebrate Christmas with his mother and family in Floresville and San Antonio. Goode was among the eight saved crew of a Navy blimp sinking off the Georgia coast on December 5 1957, after a dramatic rescue by USS Ellison. Local friends join in greeting him at Floresville Tuesday evening.

Floresville Christmas Events With Santa Visits and Cash Awards
Floresville hosts a Christmas Eve program with a band concert at 5 30 PM on the courthouse square. Santa arrives by fire truck to help firefighters with gift bags. The Chamber of Commerce offers Christmas Cash Awards at 4 00 PM 5 00 PM and 5 30 PM with a final 45 00 payout on the coming Saturday. Merchants encourage buying to earn tickets for these awards. Santa will also appear on the south portico and descend the firemen ladder for the gala.

On Christmas Eve at 6 30 PM Floresville hosts a free fruit bag distribution for every babe in arms boy and girl and urges all families to attend. The program featured a Nativity scene, a talk titled You Are My Witnesses, an evangelism display, and a round table discussion led by Mrs. Lawhon.
