Grohn Named District Deputy Grand Master in Texas
John H. Grohn Jr of Beerville is appointed District Deputy Grand Master for Mason District 38, covering 10 lodges. Truck overturns after tire blows near Floresville
A Mack concrete truck owned by McDonough Concrete Co. of San Antonio overturned on Highway 181 North near Floresville last Thursday around 8 45. The left front tire blew out causing the driver Oscar Barrera to lose control and strike a utility pole before stopping in a field. Barrera was treated at Memorial Hospital for head injuries. Damage to the truck was estimated at $10 000 or more by Investigator L E Hobson with assistance from Patrolman Bob Miller and the sheriff’s chief deputy.

Young hunter downs first buck in Calaveras county

Poth Band Students Excel at District Meet
Three Poth High School musicians competed in Kenedy for district band tryouts on December 13.
