Community Road Work Praised In Wilson County

A group of Wilson County citizens organized a four and a half day road improvement project from the Poth railroad crossing to Fritz Westmeier place and from Helena road crossing to Malcher place. They used county equipment at no cost, fed workers with a dinner, and urged expansion to other sections. Also reported is the death of pioneer citizen John McDaniel Sr. at about 2 O clock this morning after years of ill health. He leaves a widow and four sons. A funeral will be held at the family residence tomorrow.

Bull Tractor Exhibit At Eschenburg Store

An exhibit showcases a Bull Tractor in the rear of R L Eschenburg's store. San Antonio hardware enthusiast Jack W Neal serves as South Texas agent. The tractor, tested at E L Whiteett's farm, demonstrated pulling two inch disc or surrey plows and was praised by Louis McMains. Farmers are invited to view the exhibit.

Mrs W B Toone of this city has been named Chairman of a committee to sell Red Cross Christmas Seals in Floresville. Receipts from the sale depend on public support and a hearty response is urged. One cent buys a seal and placing one on each Christmas card would aid the cause.

Train kills ten Jersey cows near Flatonia Texas

A freight train on the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railroad ran over and killed a herd of ten registered Jersey cows owned by a Lu Ling man who had just moved to the area to start a dairy. The incident occurred Thursday night in Flatonia on December 15.
