He cites farming and ranching roots, education career including administrator roles in Stockdale and Path schools, and church membership, pledging honest, efficient government and urging voter support. St Nick known as Santa Claus will visit the Poth VFW Hall this Sunday December 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. He aims to speak with area children about Christmas wishes. All residents are invited to visit with Santa.
The All God’s Children Choir from St. Ann’s Church in Kosciusko will perform on a river barge on the San Antonio River Friday evening December 17. The group will sing Christmas carols and invite family and friends to enjoy the voices of these talented children.
The Yoakum Heritage Museum at 312 Simpson presents a Christmas fantasyland with sixty three new trees and one from 988 on display. Nearly 6,000 visitors viewed the exhibit last year. Museum hours are Monday through Saturday 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 3:00 to 5:00.
The Wilson County 4 H Rifle Club announces its final registration deadline on December 7 30 p m at the Wilson location. Club organizers urge interested youth to enroll to participate in upcoming rifle safety and marksmanship activities.
Tomorrow Friday December 17 is the last day to contribute to Operation Christmas Greeting, the Wilson County Volunteer Ambulance Association fundraiser. Preceptor Iota Delta and Xi Upsilon Pi of Beta Sigma Phi sponsor this 16th year project, with past totals over 54731.03 in 15 years. A December 23 Floresville Chronicle-Journal issue will print a full page Greeting listing donors.
Las Posadas observes the birth of Christ at various homes December 17 to 24 at 7 p.m. nightly with hosts listed for each date. A Christmas musical by Sacred Heart Youth Ambassadors is set for December 17 in the parish hall. Fundraising donations to EMS via Operation Christmas Greeting are invited at local banks.
Emmanuel Assembly of God in Poth presents the third annual Celebration of Christmas on December 18 at 7 p.m. and December 19 at 6 p.m. at Hermann Sons Hall.
