Susquehanna Western Inc announces two new posts at Falls City Plant. Gerald F. Richards named Plant Metallurgist handling Laboratory and engineering duties. Francis R. Salge named Office Manager overseeing accounting personnel and warehousing for the Texas District. Richards, a Chadron State College graduate, previously Metallurgist at Edgemont South Dakota. Salge, a former U S Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, has held office and credit roles in Karnes City and active local civic positions.

Town Closing Dates For New Year Holidays

Merrill L. Connally, noted Floresville rancher and former Wilson County official, has purchased the Connally home place ranch of about 865 acres from his mother Mrs J B Connally. The property lies across from his current home on the Fairview road, originally the T B Coughran ranch. The sale includes 200 acres added recently and sits near Highway 97. Four Path Band Students Earn All-District Patches

Four Path Band students received All-District patches from tryouts held December 11, 1965 in Poth. Christine Bandesky and Kurt Warnken earned second chair seats while Christine and Kurt are eighth graders with Larry a senior and Danny a sophomore. The district covers Atascosa Wilson and Guadalupe counties and the full results will appear in the Chronicle Journal. Bandmaster Ted Kelly praised the students for hard work and musical talent.

1 475 Men to be Called in January by State Draft Boards

Texas draft boards plan to induct 1 475 men in January as part of a 38 280 national call. Colonel Morris Schwartz notes 9 575 additional men will enter examinations. Induction quotas target single and childless married men 19 through 25 and volunteers under 26. restrictions apply for those with unborn children.

Construction Work On Loop 181 Awarded To Austin Firm

A contract for 1.858 miles of construction on Highway Loop 181 in Wilson County was awarded to Texas Bridge Company, Inc. The low bid was 5293,693.41. Work includes grading, structures, flexible base one course surface treatment and asphalt paving from the northwest city limits to 0.12 miles southeast of Floresville. Project duration is 125 working days. Gene Koch will supervise on site with C. R. Lytton providing district oversight.

Kolendas Return to Texas After Wyoming Post

Major Johnny Kolenda, his wife Major and daughter Kim relocate from Cheyenne Wyoming to Texas. They now live with his mother near Path Texas and Major Kolenda will join the U.S. Department at Fort Sam Houston. He reports for duty this week. The family is welcomed back to the area.
