Election in the Cotton Belt opens from 9 a m to 5 p m. Voters eligible for certificates or who produced cotton any year since 1927 may participate. The election targets those who qualify for the current year’s certificates.
Voters in Wilson County and surrounding areas will decide whether to continue cotton production or shift to other methods in the Bankhead election. Polls will be open December 14 at Floresville, Stockdale, Poth, and La Vernia with committees to supervise ballot casting. State Teachers College quartet from San Marcos to sing at the First Baptist Church in Floresville on Sunday night December 16. El Doyle, guest soloist, recently named for the Genege Concert of the Glee Club. Quartet members Truman Bullard, Bob MacDonald, Bernard Johnson, and James McRill. McRill, 19, 6 ft 4 in, 200 lb, won first in Texas Deal Contest and will sing two solos. Free will offering at end. early seats advised.
ROBSTOWN Texas Dec 41 D H Perry one of six representatives from Texas and Oklahoma returned from Washington where he worked with cotton grower states and national agricultural authorities to advance a progressive cotton program. He says Washington officials seek to aid producers and resolve issues hindering the Agricultural Adjustment program. He notes the Bankhead referendum by individual farmers on Friday will be nationally important.
The Bankhead Act referendum ballot is to be voted today December 14 by farmers renters landlords and sharecroppers with the question on continuing Bash 1935 and contributions into next year 1936. The unclear OCR text shows ongoing discussion of tax implications and voter eligibility.

Rev. F. M. Freeman, new presiding elder for the San Antonio district of the West Texas Conference, delivered his first sermon at Floresville Methodist Church at 11 o clock Sunday. A large crowd attended the service and heard a strong message. Mr. Wm. Doyle sang a solo during the program. The first quarterly conference followed with strong departmental reports. Mrs. Freeman accompanied her husband and they were guests of Rev. and Mrs. A. A. Carter.
