War Saving Certificates Now On Sale In Floresville
Local post office and postal workers sell saving certificates and thrift stamps to support the war effort. Certificates sell for 4.12, mature in 1923 with a value of 5.00. thrift stamps 25 cents each. Also notices for a legal advisory board and a Christmas issue of The Chronicle Journal, plus Red Cross sewing hours at Mrs Matlock’s residence and an upcoming U. S. War effort notice.

District Court Closes After Three Weeks Wilson County Term
Wilson County district court ended its first term under the 81st district after three weeks. Thirteen criminal cases were disposed of and many civil matters remained. Antonio Castro was found guilty of murder in a case heard last week, with a two year penitentiary sentence imposed. The Red Cross Christmas Membership Campaign, led by Mrs. J. Houston, seeks 3466 members in Wilson County by campaign close in December. Members receive a Christmas flag and family counts. The campaign urges Liberty Bonds and Red Cross support as a patriotic duty.

Floresville Mason Earns State Teaching Certificate
B D Fore High Priest of Floresville Chapter 160 Royal Arch Masons returned from Waco where he attended the Grand Chapter meeting. He received a certificate to teach Chapter work anywhere in Texas for the coming year, noted as the youngest Mason from the county and among the youngest in Texas.
