Yvonne Dziuk of Floresville won the National 4-H Consumer Education Home Economics event and was honored at a Chicago reception by Edward Le Donnell of Montgomery Ward and Norman C. Mindrum. The December 1 1969 dinner celebrated 50 national and state winners attending the 4-H Congress, as Montgomery Ward marked 47 years as a sponsor. More than one million future homemakers participate nationwide in these programs.

Clyde K. Dickerson, general rate planning supervisor in the revenue requirements department, is named division manager for the St. Louis area Ladue division effective November 1, 1969. He replaces William H. Jordan, recently promoted to marketing operations director at general headquarters. Dickerson, a Texas A&M graduate from Lexington NC, previously held roles in Dallas and Houston and joined Southwestern Bell in Fort Worth in 1955. He is married to Jean Johnson of Floresville. they have four children.

Medal Presented to Captain Jack L Stanley for Aerial Missions
By direction of the president Captain Jack L Stanley of the Infantry US Army receives the Distinguished Flying Cross for meritorious achievement during sustained aerial flight in support of combat ground forces in the Republic of Vietnam. Between July 13, 1968 and May 26, 1969 he flew over hostile territory on more than twenty five missions, displaying discipline and professionalism while bringing credit to his unit and the United States Army. He is the son of Mr and Mrs W L Stanley of Alice Texas and grandson of Mrs John L Risley of Floresville.
