Mr. B. J. Pitcock will spend eighteen months as a skilled worker constructing air strips near Saigon. He left December 8 at 7 30 a m aboard Braniff to Dallas then a jet to California and on to Viet Nam. His wife and five sons remain in Floresville plus Ronnie a Pan American College freshman.

Floresville native Macon Roemer, a Southwest Texas State sophomore defensive tackle, was among 28 lettermen on the 1965 Bobcat football squad announced by coach Bill Miller. The 6-2, 217 pound lineman helped the team to a Lone Star Conference runner up finish and is the son of Mr and Mrs Fred Roemer of Floresville Route 3 Box 43.

Johnson City edged Skidmore-Tynan 7-6 to win the Region 5-B football title at Floresville. The Eagles capitalized on Bobcat fumbles and drops, with Melvin Sultemeier rushing 58 yards on 15 carries and Smith totaling 63 yards for Skidmore. Thanksgiving Service Donations Help County Welfare and Hospital
The Ministerial Alliance of Fior esville thanks the public and churches for the City Wide Thanksgiving Service attended by over 500. An offering of 142.31 was raised for charity. Ministers voted 100 to the county hospital for mercy work and the rest to the county welfare office for food for the needy.
