Quick Justice After Poth Robbery and Gun Battle
Two men charged with burglarizing Stavinoha Chevrolet in Poth were tried by District Judge S. B. Carr after a running gun battle with City Marshal D. J. Acosta. About 11 shots were fired, no injuries reported, suspects captured near Karnes City and returned for indictment and guilty pleas. Each received five years in the penitentiary. aliases listed as Hop Oehlers and Ed Allen. Authorities say the men were sought in New Braunfels, San Marcos and Houston.
