W A Scott of Floresville was elevated to the highest Masonic office by the Grand Chapter of Texas meeting in Waco. He served as Deputy Grand High Priest last year after six years as Chapter Chairman and has long been a leading Mason in the state.

Mrs Nettie Hurley Rites Set After Death in Texas

Mrs Nettie Hurley a native of Louisiana came to San Antonio for medical care about six weeks ago. Survived by husband Charles C Hurley three sons Felix M Hurley of Lytle D H Hurley and William M Hurley of Melon and four daughters Mrs Clemi Bradshaw Mrs John Burris Miss Rosalie Hurley and Miss Alma Hurley all of Melon. Body prepared by Zizik Undertaking and taken to Melon for burial. She was stepmother of Myrtle Hurley of this city. Funeral arrangements announced.

Marriage Ties Tom Oats Jr and Mattie Miller at Fairview

In a Wednesday eve ceremony at Rev. Hughes residence in Fairview, Tom Oats Jr and Mattie Miller joined in matrimony before close relatives. Mrs Miller, daughter of A B Bynum, teaches at Fairview school and has wide local ties. The groom, son of Te J Oats, is regarded as a sturdy farmer from Fairview.
