Road Bond Election Ordered by Court in Wilson County

Commissioners in special session order a December 30 election in Road District No. 6 Wilson County to issue bonds up to 10000 with tax levy for a road project from Stockdale through Kosciusko to Stockdale No. 123. District covers 49 square miles with 31431.95 acres and voting at Kosciusko schoolhouse Precinct No. 4 presided by Felix Pawlik.

Loire Trappers Continue Coyotes Campaign in Loire

Adolph Wright and J P Jasik report steady success in the local coyote trapping drive. They say they caught three more coyotes last week with catches on Friday Saturday and Sunday. They urge neighbors to join the program begun by government trapper B Fraesier which served the area well before relocation.

Thieves entered the Floresville city waterworks pump house last week and stole two city motors a 5 hp air pump motor and a smaller water treatment motor bolted to concrete. A truck likely used in the haul. about 100 pounds of copper wire from San Antonio Public Service Company also stolen. total value around 165 dollars.

Athletic Council Ends Year With Clean Slate

The Athletic Council of Ville High School, formed by business and professional men, closed the football season with a clean slate and a strong record. Elmo Wright led the year with a dedicated team, debts are paid, and about 165 dollars remains in the treasury for awards and minor bills. awards will be announced at the annual banquet Thursday night.

Deputy Sheriff Acquitted Of Murder Charge In District Court

Deputy Sheriff C F Fuller was found not guilty in the 81st district court of the killing of Clifford Heathcock 23 of Sutherland Springs. The court accepted an instructed verdict of not guilty due to insufficient evidence after witnesses testified Heathcock pulled a shotgun and knife at the Anderson home in Sutherland Springs.

Local Masons Attend Grand Lodge Session in Waco

Rev. A M Foster pastor of Floresville Methodist Church and district deputy grand master, with J C Lane worshipful master of Floresville Lodge No 515, and J H Bain of Stockdale, attended the Grand Lodge in Waco this week. They left Tuesday morning and were to return last night or today.

Wilson County farmers to attend state and national conventions

Five Wilson County Agricultural Association members travel to Fort Worth for the Texas Agricultural Association’s first annual convention on December 9 to 11, spending four days away from home. Delegates include R. A. Houck Lester Sikes A D Richardson O J Hierholzer and F D Bartlett. Houck and Sikes also attend the Chicago national meeting December 12 to 14. Richardson serves on the committee of Policies and Resolutions guiding farm legislation. The future of the Texas farmer hinges on these delegates work amid opposition and propaganda campaigns. Musical Club Sponsors Christmas Decoration Program Here

The Floresville Musical Club will sponsor a Christmas Decoration Program with prizes for best exterior, yard, and storefront decorations. Cash awards will be announced later, with homes and business fronts competing in multiple prize categories. Tigers Beat Runge 26-6 In Final 87 Season Game

The Floresville Tigers defeated the Runge Yellow Jackets 26 to 6 on Tiger Field in the final scheduled football game of the 1987 season. The Range team provided stubborn opposition, though the score line favored Floresville.
