The Sable Stable City Cleaners and The Maple Tree celebrate a grand opening at 1423 3rd Street in Floresville with free gift certificates refreshments and sale merchandise. Owner Leona Maples along with Janie Navarro Louise Reinhard and Pam Harroff invite shoppers to visit this Saturday December 4 to register for prizes and plan for the holidays.

Santa visits Poth's Dilworth Plaza on Saturday December 4 with the Museum open 10am to 5pm. Poth High School Band performs at 10:30am, VFW flag raising at 11am, Pony Express rider at noon. On Sunday December 5 the Museum opens noon to 5pm, Village Band performs 1pm to 2:30pm, Planta arrives at 1:30pm for children’s wishes, 8th grade choir and nearby choirs begin at 2:30pm, with lighting of the plaza after the choirs. Refreshments available.
The Wilson County Mental Health Clinic advisory board plans four quarterly dinners at the Stockdale Community Building starting Friday December 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. Stefanie Ruble chairs the event promoting a spaghetti dinner with $4 tickets at Petal Patch Stockdale and Trujillo's Boot Shop Floresville. Proceeds reduce building debt and cover monthly expenses.
The Brush Country Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse announces a new full time office in Floresville Texas expanding outreach to Red counties of Texas. The opening in summer 1991 is funded by a grant from the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse to provide educational programs and presentations to schools and communities.
Official event marches 90 mile Alamo La Bahia corridor from Goliad to San Antonio on December 4 with 80 horsemen finishing at Mission San Juan. Weekend festivities December 3-5 include Christmas in Floresville and Dilworth Plaza Path, proclamations carried from Floresville to Pleasanton and Mission Espada.
The Chronicle Journal sponsors a limited time contest with a snowman clue hidden in ads from Wal Mart to Sable Stable.
