Burglary Suspects Arrested Over $50 Theft in Stockdale
Police recovered many items including guns jewelry stereo watches color TV a stamp collection from the Stockdale home of Mr and Mrs Ray L Rawls. Rocky George Rawls 17 and Amanda Rawls Lopez 18 of Austin were charged with burglary and theft over 50. The July 29 entry led to joint efforts by Travis County and Wilson County officers and Texas Ranger Art Rodriguez. Both suspects admitted illegal entry.

Scouting adds four professionals to Alamo Area Council staff
The Alamo Area Council San Antonio announces four new Scouting staff hires and reassigned duties. Buzz Barron will coordinate Floresville Stockdale Lavemia and Wilson County Scouters. Johnny Dee Johnson becomes field director for Hill Country Tejas Valley and One Districts. Joe Ramirez leads Aztec and Polaris Districts and San Antonio Model Cities program. Ray Utley becomes Exploring executive and Ray Sanford joins as associate executive District One. Wayne Bogue also serves as district executive District One for Hill Country. E. F. Aerosol Can Explosion Shatters Funeral Director’s Truck
A Dodge pickup owned by Funeral Director George Winyard in Poth Texas had its windshield shattered last Saturday when an aerosol can on the front seat exploded. The blast, caused by heat from sun exposure, loosened bottom glass and scattered nearby Kleenex as the parked vehicle endured three hours in sun with windows up. The incident warns against leaving aerosols in vehicles.

Peanut Growers Appreciate Sherry Lynn Pageant Support
A Wilson County Peanut Growers Association letter dated August 22, 1972 from the Texas Peanut Producers Board thanks Floresville group for supporting the Fourth Annual Peanut Queen Pageant. It commends Sherry Lynn as first runner up and notes the queen will promote peanuts nationwide on radio and TV under free public service time.
