Wilson County Commissioner of Precinct No 1 B A Jimenez died Saturday August 26 1967 at 64 Funeral services were conducted Monday August 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery under Palacios Funeral Home supervision A longtime public servant he served as county commissioner since 1950 and previously as justice of the peace in the 1940s He was a Floresville High School graduate and received honors including Man of the Year 1966 from Floresville American GI Forum and Citizen of the Year 1967 from the Floresville Chamber of Commerce He also led as president of the Lodi School Board and member of a pioneer Wilson County family.

About fifty farmers from Kosciusko Floresville Three Oaks De ver Path Stockdale Fairg City and surrounding areas formed a new officers group for the coming year. The charter ceremony was officiated by Texas Farmers Union State President Jay Norman of Waco. Officers named include Wayne Ruthlend president Alvin Pruski first vice president E. W. Hassmann second vice president Jerome E. Labus secretary treasurer and Curtis Vann state organizer. The group will meet monthly at rotating area communities to appoint a Board of Directors.

Dr. Grover, a Harvard graduate with a public health master, previously served as Pasadena Health Officer and now directs regional TB control. Assistant Director Sam Nixon and Sanitation Inspector Marvin Baumann were appointed, with a full-time clerk Mary Rodriguez on duty weekdays. The office invites community support and visits each Friday afternoon.

Winner Of Chevy Sales Contest Earns Bermuda Trip
Ewald Koepp Jr of Koepp Chevrolet Co in La Vernia won in his group during May and June and received an all expense paid trip for him and his wife to Bermuda. The campaign slogan was Show Your Spirit. They plan to fly to New York and board the USS Constitution for the Bermuda voyage with other Chevrolet dealers. They will do deep sea fishing sight-seeing and side trips and return home late next week.
