New Telephone Computer to Switch Floresville Calls Oct 3
Continental Telephone completes a new computer style switching center in Floresville and will begin switching calls on Wednesday October 3 1979 replacing the old electro mechanical office. The system uses solid state parts with no moving parts and includes an automatic fault reroute and teletype alerts. Touch Calling will follow the changeover with dial tone signals sounding different and dialing procedures changing on the same party line. Users are advised to call the Customer Service Center for details.

Three Charged In Robbery In San Antonio
Police arrested Alfonso Gonzales and two companions for a shotgun robbery of a loresville man at a Southside gas station. The fleeing car was stopped at Roosevelt Street and Southcross Boulevard. Charged with aggravated robbery before High Magistrate May Elizbeth Ladd were Louis Tietz Pete DeLeon and Robert Garcia. Bonds set at 15000 for Tietz and 10000 for Garcia.
