Peanut Warehouse Likely Ready In 10 Days County Harvests 200 Car Crop

The Wilson county peanut crop is about 60 percent harvested with over 20 000 acres planted. Yields to date total around 130 carloads and the county may reach 200 carloads with favorable weather. The peanut hay is top quality and the crop is valued over 200 000 dollars. A bonded warehouse at Fleersville, capacity 550 tons, may be ready within 10 days, with J T Sheehy of the Southwestern Peanut Growers Association offering details.

Two Women and Man Held on Floresville Cattle Theft Charge

A trio including two women and a man wanted by Floresville authorities for cattle theft were arrested Monday afternoon in the 600 block of Fredericksburg Road by Patrolman Cleburne Weilbacher. A tired but happy group of Floresville youths returned last Thursday from National Guard maneuvers in Louisiana. They endured days of heavy rain, gained solid training, and came back with suntans and good health.
