Alissa Loraine Aranda, seven, selected by Queen Carolyn Gaona as train bearer in the Court of Enchantment of the Seas. She is a Floresville Elementary second grader, daughter of Alejos Jr and Lupe, with siblings Leysa and Nathan, and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The family thanks the queen and looks forward to festival events.

Pickup Rollover Near Stockdale Claims Life
A one vehicle rollover on FM 1681 thirteen miles northeast of Stockdale Friday evening claimed the life of a 27 year old Nixon man. The driver Michael Rice 27 of Nixon overcorrected after leaving the road causing the crash. Passenger Virgil Stewart 31 also of Nixon escaped serious injury. The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene by Wilson County PHE OS Martha Schnabel identified as Robert Baker. The investigation was conducted by DPS Trooper Luis Flores.
