Cibolo Church Is Dedicated Sunday
A large crowd attended the dedication of the new Cibolo Baptist Church last Sunday. Rev. B D Rice preached at the 11 o clock service and again at 8 o clock. About 140 people enjoyed the occasion. Blake Hardy was ordained to preach at a special service. Board members included Rev. Rice, Rev. James A Corder of Stockdale, Rev. R B Loyd, and Rev. Bryan Teague. The church was completed and the membership is proud of the new building.

Large Barn Destroyed At Franklin Home In Floresville
A fire at about 11 00 on Sunday night destroyed the Ed Franklin barn and its contents in east Floresville. The hay loft fire, with baled hay nearby, likely started the blaze. Firemen saved the house and nearby structures after laying hundreds of yards of hose. the barn was insured.

Zuniga Child Injured by Auto Near City Limits
Mary Delores Zuniga, five year old daughter of Victor Zuniga, was seriously injured when struck by a passing automobile on Highway 16 just outside the city limits north of town. A San Antonio driver’s car hit her as she attempted to cross to a neighbor’s house, breaking a leg and causing head cuts. She is under treatment at Blake Hospital and recovering. the car operator stopped and assisted.

Southern Pacific Singers Offer Thursday Program
The Southern Pacific colored singers from San Antonio under I H Brooks directed a splendid program at the fair grounds auditorium last Thursday evening. About 50 mixed voices formed the chorus with local colored church voices joining in. Quartet numbers solos vocal and whistling numbers plus chorus selections filled a balanced, enjoyable show. A large crowd attended with special seats for white attendees. Proceeds benefited local colored churches.

In Wilson county 8000 votes were cast in the run off election last Saturday. Walter Voges won the 79th District seat for Wilson and Karnes counties with 2044 to 1101 over H H Schuenemann. Karnes County backed Kenedy candidate Schuenemann 2373 to 1153. Otto J Weber beat Zilmon Sample 571 to 627 for Precinct 4 county commissioner. Col Ernest C Thompson carried Railroad Commissioner 1911 to 1018. State Agriculture incumbent J E McDonald won 1593 to 1280 over George B Terrell. Final statewide totals showed Thompson 449,919 and Morris 290,649. McDonald 418,915 and Terrell 301,219.

Death of Karl Schroeder in Floresville Texas
Karl Wilhelm Schroeder born February 4, 1859 at Rockhouse Texas died Monday morning after a life full of relocation with his wife Rosa Haverlah since their 1881 marriage. They lived in Schoenau Shelby Hallettsville Floresville and Wil son counties before settling in Floresville where four children survive. The family notes his baptism in 1926 by Pastor Flathmann and increasing deafness limited church visits in later years. Surviving children are William of Fredericksburg Rosa Pfeil of Floresville and Adolf Schroeder with son Charles referenced.
