Lieut William E Wright of Floresville son of Mr and Mrs Elmo Wright was honored at Fort Sam Houston with a Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster representing a third Purple Heart. Mrs Emil Strey Dies At La Vernia
Mrs Emil Strey aged 69 died August 6 1946 at 510 pm at the home of her daughter Mrs E O Koepp in La Vernia after months of declining health. She lived in La Vernia for over 43 years born in Germany in 1876 came to America at seven married Emil Strey in 1894 who died in 1918. A lifelong Lutheran church member active in parish until illness. Funeral at Lutheran cemetery La Vernia conducted by Rev Nic Frueh and Rev Paul Geiger with high tributes to a consecrated Christian life. She was loved by many friends and survived by her daughter.
