RFC chairman Jesse H. Jones announced $250,000,000 in cotton loans to aid farmers at 12 cents a pound. Banks nationwide will lend on RFC credit with takeout on RFC's part if needed. Jones doubted more than $150,000,000 would be used, noting the allocation could cover over 4,000,000 bales.

Cotton Carryover Totals From Census Bureau Report
Census Bureau data show carryover from the previous cotton year reaches 7,745,509 bales of lint and 444,211 bales of linters. Government forecast for the year estimates 9,195,000 bales, yielding a total supply around 17,384,720 bales for 1934 25. The Wilson County Relief Board urges local people to use six canneries at Tresville Stockdale Path Pandora Caddo and LaVernia to can hens turkeys rabbits beef and pork.
