Floresville Electric Light & Power System of Floresville Path and Stockdale is remodeling its offices to create modern spaces for staff and public use. The project includes air conditioning central heating display rooms and expanded storage with plans to convert an Ice Company site and a Jessie Lee DeBrooke property into a parking area. Richard Ultmann is contractor Philip Carrington architect. Robert F. Spruce is general manager with directors Woolsey Flieller Schneider and McDaniel.

Floresville Football Work-Out Builds 51 Players for 1963

Floresville coaches oversee daily drills as 51 athletes, led by coach Jack Taylor, show strong spirit despite limited senior experience. They emphasize conditioning, discipline, and safety after attending a Coaches School in Houston. Sacred Heart School Plans 50000 Addition Of Classrooms

Sacred Heart School in Floresville is building a four classroom addition west of the sisters the new steel and brick structure will have rest room facilities and be completed by early September the project costs about 50000 with seven sisters teaching and about 200 students expected in the fall Gene Treiber of San Antonio is contractor and Daniel Serna is architect.

Stockdale Oil Readies Tests on Moore Tract in Wilson County

T C Moore of San Antonio seeks three Rule 37 tests for 5,000 foot lower Austin Chalk wells on the East Stockdale area. The Moore Ramzinski Unit would lie along the old GH & SR Railroad right of way, near the Holland lease, with distances given from the Johnson and Moore wells and Highway 87. The plan places the test about 1,600 feet west of the Holland N1 oil well and 2,000 feet northeast of a Baker well No. 18.

Little League Has Successful Season Here

Floresville Little League enjoyed a standout season with about 90 players in wholesome summer recreation. Six teams competed weekly led by managers and sponsors. Pirates won first place under Waldo Martinez, Dodgers took second coached by Tito Guerrera and Wallis Pfeil, with broad community support and praise for all coaches and volunteers.

DeWayne Scott Named New Floresville Faculty Member

DeWayne Scott, former Brackettville football coach, was elected to Floresville school faculty to teach history and assist football coach. He succeeds Travis Matheny, who resigned to teach at Harlandale Junior High. Scott, married with two daughters, will receive his Master’s from Southwest Texas Teachers College this weekend.

Water Study Considered by Guadalupe County Officials
