Wilson County Girls 4-H Club sponsors convened August 14 to approve a Sutherland Springs encampment for all Wilson County 4-H girls. The program includes registration, organization, meals, swimming, recreation, and nature activities with speaker Mrs Mary Wilson Young. Eligible girls from Wilson County may attend.
Floresville fans joined about 100 local enthusiasts and Poth supporters traveling to San Antonio for the San Antonio Missions game. Floresville boosters wore ribbon badges while KTSA announcer Jack Mitchell promoted the station and boosted local baseball interest.
Heavy rainfall last Sunday slowed early week ginning receipts. Poth’s ginnings reached several hundred bales, Loma Vista counted 426 bales by yesterday, and Eschenburg & Schneider Gin at Dewees hit 600. Farmers expect most crop gathered by end of next week with clear weather.

Floresville had shipped 25 carloads of peanuts this season as the crop began rolling well. Simultaneously 22 carloads of popcorn had been shipped, with two cars on the track being loaded, and the popcorn shipments near completion.
