Marissa Sharone Pfeil, in third grade, represents the Peanut Festival Association in the Court of Our Ancestral Cultures. She is the daughter of Dale and Sarena Pfeil of Floresville, with brother Gavin and grandparents Doris Rabenaldt and Carl and Donna Pfeil. Matthew Joseph Demmer, son of Richard and Sherri Demmer, is chosen as a page for the forty ninth Floresville Peanut Festival Court of Ancestral Cultures. The Floresville Elementary third grader has deep festival roots dating to 1973, with relatives serving in key roles and the Coke Party tradition ongoing.

One Car Rollover Claims Life Near Poth
A 28 year old laborer from Poth died in a Friday evening rollover on County Road 1229 five miles southeast of Poth. Victoriario T Palacio was pronounced dead at 7 29 p m by JP Prec nb David Tejada. The 1978 Mercury operated by Palacio left the road, overcorrected, overturned twice, and he was ejected not wearing a seat belt. The body was taken to Vinyard Funeral Home and later sent to Mexico for burial.

Stolen Jeep Cherokee Tied to Six Juveniles in San Antonio Case
On August 12 1993 at 240 am Path Patrolman Gustafson stopped a Jeep Cherokee for failing to stop at Welhausen Street. The car, later found stolen from San Antonio, contained tools and a Motorola car phone also stolen from Susan Beam’s Camaro nearby. Six juveniles from San Antonio were arrested and delivered to Juvenile Probation.
