Missionary Culpepper Returns Home For Short Fort Worth Visit
Rev. C. L. Culpepper a Floresville Baptist missionary to the Orient for 32 years returned from Formosa to preach at his home church First Baptist in Floresville. He shared vivid accounts of Formosa and its government and religious work. His wife Ola Lane Culpepper, sister of Sam Lane, accompanied him. The couple will spend a year in Fort Worth teaching at Southwestern Theological Seminary before resuming mission duties in Formosa.

The Wilson Oil and Exploration Co No 2 Ike Werner in the Sas pamco Field Bexar County sighted 22 barrels of oil hourly from an open hole at 2657 to 2795 feet as the field's first lower Austin Chalk producer. It had been acidized with 2000 gallons and the 22 barrel flow on a one half inch choke. The test and No 1 drilled about 14 miles ago lie south of Elmendorf on Schulze Road.

Floresville hosts its weekly sale at Floresville Livestock Commission Company under new owner Noll. The 390 head included 229 cattle 158 hogs and 3 goats with buyers from about 12 nearby towns. Floresville school board has elected Allan John Drozd as the new agriculture teacher, replacing Alvinurt who resigned last week. Drozd, a Victoria High School graduate with an MS from Texas A and M College at Kingsville, has taught at Flour Bluff in Corpus Christi the past two years.
