Red Cross Blood Donor Unit Returns Sept 6

Wilson County Chapter of the American Red Cross brings to Floresville a blood donor unit from San Antonio for one day only on September 6 from 10 p m at the Methodist church. Mrs E F Woolsey Jr chairs the drive with assistants to be announced. All Wilson County residents are urged to register to donate at once.

No Run Off Election In Wilson County

Wilson County will not hold a run off primary on August 26. With only two contested state offices, the decision was made by the County Democratic Executive Committee. About 40 or more counties statewide also will skip run offs.

Pfc Leroy Linnstaedter son of Mr and Mrs Ben Linnstaedter of near Stockdale was killed in the South Pacific on June 20 while with the 16th Infantry in Hawaii islands. He took part in Tarawa and possibly Saipan and had been overseas six months. He was 25, a Stockdale High School and Southwest Texas State Teachers College alumnus, formerly with Wyatt Metal & Boiler Works. Survived by parents a sister Bernandine and brothers Fritz and Zilmon, the latter reported missing in action since Pearl Harbor. County offers sympathy.
