Floresville leaders tentatively approve raising starting pay to 12 per hour and matching increases for current officers to boost professionalism. The plan would cost about 55 thousand dollars more than last year, with total police salaries near 475 thousand including overtime. Mayor Tejada noted higher pay should attract qualified applicants while chiefs seek two to three more officers and older patrol vehicles replacement.
