Evergreen Underground Water District tax measure fails in election
The maintenance and general purpose tax proposal for Evergreen Underground Water Conservation District failed to pass in Tuesday’s two county vote across Wilson and Atascosa counties. Unofficial returns showed a county-wide majority in Atascosa while Wilson County overwhelmingly opposed the measure, with Campbellton reported 8 for and 148 against and final county totals pending.

Dawn Masters daughter of Mr and Mrs Gerald Masters of Floresville attended the Texas Youth Conference in Austin August 17 to 20 representing Floresville High School as an alternate delegate sponsored by the Floresville Lions Club. Miss Pat Baker was chosen but unable to attend. Both seniors at FHS are active in school organizations. Masters will edit the yearbook, Baker the school paper, and both belong to Beta Club UIL team and the honor society. They also attended Trinity Journalism Workshop representing the annual staff.
