County dairy enthusiasts in Wilson County present a program at Bryant Here Monday night. Event features Jersey herds exhibition and educational talks.
A Brazos county delegation praised Wilson county for its dairy growth and wide diversification. They toured 16 daily milk routes to San Antonio and large cream shipments to Houston and other cities, noting annual dairy production around 275000 dollars. Bryan attendees included Amon Williams, Pink Barron, Geo W Johnson, Clyde Goen, and others.
The board of stewards at Floresville Methodist Church held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday night. The session covered church affairs and community event planning, with attendees noting upcoming activities and financial matters.
A Floresville stop today hosts 25 autos from Pleasanton as business leaders promote the Atascosa County Fair set for Aug 28 29 30 and 31. The caravan features noise makers a picnic at Pecan Grove Park and a brief program on the courthouse square followed by a regional tour through Path Falls City Karnes City and return to Pleasanton.

Mrs. Dillard Youngblood aged 36 died after apparently stepping from an embankment while a fishing party at McManus Creek near Corrigan in Polk county. Her son cried for water and the rescue attempt led to her drowning. she was found the next morning. She leaves a husband and nine children and the funeral was held in Floresville with many attendees.
Cars loaded for Floresville and Labatt shipped eight carloads of corn yesterday morning. Five cars carried car corn and three shelled. Three more cars arrived yesterday. Caravans two and Labatt two. Most corn headed to San Antonio and Seguin for shelling. The section reports one of its heaviest corn crops in years with solid demand. Floresville may ship more corn this year than ever before.
Two test wells are being drilled near Stockdale with Tummilson and First State Bank of Stockdale showing interest. Shallow production is expected.
Drilling activity reported by S. A. Express focuses on E. G. Potter No 1 Walton test in Bexar County with core at 2106 feet in the Austin chalk. In Wilson County, R. M. Sherer and associates drill two tests near Stockdale, the Tummilson and First State Bank of Stockdale, with depths around 457 and 220 feet as they seek shallow production. The Tummilgon No 1 lies west of Stockdale near the Tegler tract. multiple tests have yielded oil at shallow depths in the area over the years.
Tuttle announces faith in the community as Floresville dedicates a $30,000 ice plant and electric light office last Tuesday. About 500 people attended with many out-of-town visitors. Officials from San Antonio Public Service Co. and South Texas Ice Co. joined the ceremony, with a 25-employee Public Service bus arriving from San Antonio.
Mrs. F. B. Seale hosted the Methodist Missionary Society meeting with Rev. A. A. Carter presenting two chapters from The Spiritual Life. After study, the group packed a box of clothes, linen, and bedding for the Valley Institute at Pharr, marking their support for local families and Mexican Methodist parsonage improvements.
Floresville gins report 751 bales produced up to yesterday afternoon. Loma Vista Gin west of Floresville reports 480 bales. Eschenburg Schneider Gin at Dewees shows 640 bales by 2 PM, leading county totals. Dewees is highlighted as a favored cotton area.
Wilson County Fair Association board meets tonight at 8 o clock sharp in the county agent’s office. The event includes a musical program by the Public Service Company ladies mandolin club, prize drawings, and remarks by local officials praising the new Floresville electric plant and its future impact on the community.
Wilson County's first official government cotton statistician, Z Ridout, released Wilson County gin totals. Before August 1, 1929, 387 bales were ginned in Wilson County, compared to 330 bales by the same date last year, showing growth in output.
County judge Cy Be Stevenson, after a serious operation in San Antonio weeks ago, was brought home Tuesday and is improving daily. The family reports he stood the trip well and is doing nicely amid recovery.
