Jeff Janek is named Prince Elect of the Floresville Peanut Festival. He is the son of Felix and (late) Janek Jr and grandson of Felix Sr and Delrose Mattke of Seguin. A Floresville resident active in 4-H and FFA, he helps on the family farm near Path tending a 460 acre peanut crop and plans college with a return to agriculture.

UTSA Archeological Research Department conducts a slide presentation on Rancho de las Cabras near Floresville at 7:30 p.m. August 21 1985. Ray Smith and Joe Labadie will explain slides and answer questions. The talk covers Rancho de las Cabras history from the 1770s, its link to Mission Espada, and site details found by volunteers over five years. She is a student active in church and school clubs with plans for college in business administration.
