Cale Paul Wehman Aug Schriever and others from Floresville Webb City Poth and Unity areas. County Agent C W Lehmberg sent letters to council chairmen reporting the decision and urging farmers to abide by it.
The report notes bollworm infestation spreading from limited areas to 14 counties including Lamar Collin Milam and Robertson amid August detections. Deterioration cited in Southeast Texas and coast counties from bollworm depredations and heavy rains, while overall Texas shows fair to excellent progress due to dry, sunny conditions. William G. Tobin of San Antonio has been named supervisor for the 14th Congressional District. The district includes Aransas Bee Bexar Blanco Comal Guadalupe Karnes Kendall Nueces San Patricio and Wilson counties. The 1910 census population for these counties was 237 317.
New York August 13. The Department of Justice reports the first Federal profiteering conviction. District Attorney Lucey telegraphed Attorney General Palmer from Binghamton that a retail grocer was fined $500 in Federal Court for selling sugar at 15 cents per pound.

A movement seeks to organize an American Legion post at Floresville Texas for World War I veterans. Eligible members include those who served between April 6 1917 and November 11 1918. Dues will not exceed one dollar and a charter requires at least fifteen members. petitions due by August 20 1919.
Austin Aug 13 Chief entomologist Ernst E Scholl of the Department of Agriculture said the state received many reports on the common boll worm of cotton the boll weevil and pink boll worm but pink boll worm reports proved other insects. He noted the Mexican cotton boll weevil has slowed due to heat while the common boll worm could be causing the most damage this year as worms move from bolls to the ground to transform into moths for future generations.
