Overplanting May Not Get Penalty
COLLEGE STATION Farmers may receive the cotton price adjustment on their 1937 crop if they certify they did not knowingly overplant and agree to refund any later discovered shortfall. E N Holmgreen at Texas A M College says all acreage is measured but compliance is waived for 1937 producers who sold after Sept 10 1937 for a flat 3 cent per pound on eligible amount. Those with cotton under a 9 cent government loan may obtain payments on loan cotton without transferring or selling it. The $130 000 000 appropriation funds the payments.

Trucker Hurt In 20 Foot Embankment Crash
Trucker Boyd Shaw Belk, 35, of Linton, was critically injured when his truck left a Cor pus Christi highway embankment and overturned into a 20 foot drop near the Bex ar Wilson county line. He was pinned in the cab and rescued by passing motorists before being taken to Floresville hospital with a fractured skull. Sheriff's deputies said cause undetermined and the mishap occurred around 3 a.m. as the vehicle left the roadway.
