Football Practice Starts Here in Floresville This Season
Football practice for the 1962 season begins Monday August 20 at Tiger Wield Floresville. Head Coach Ralph Starnes calls all boys interested in playing to meet at the field house at the scheduled time. A large turnout is hoped for as daily workouts and sites are planned with games held on Wednesdays and teams playing Tuesdays and Fridays. Communities including Mooresville and Floresville sponsor the program with a new lighted field, bleachers and refreshment stand. About 500 people have attended games on some nights.

Daylight Burglary At Farm Home Near La Vernia
A bold daylight burglary occurred at the farm house of W B H Keeland near La Vernia about 9 39 Monday morning. The home, occupied by W H Dishong, was abandoned at the time. Entry was gained by breaking a window. Items stolen included clothing luggage four radios a pistol and other goods. Some items were dropped as the intruder fled into the pasture. Deputies and the state ranger investigated.
