Miss Lamartine Camp Dies After Brief Illness
Miss Lamartine Camp daughter of the late Judge J L Camp and a teacher in Pauline Nelson school died at a local hospital Saturday after a brief illness. Survived by mother Mrs J L Camp three sisters Mrs Emmett Whitsett Floresville Mrs Beth McKay Denton Miss Mary Camp San Antonio two brothers Fayette and Sam Camp four nephews and one niece. Funeral services were held here Sunday. Mrs E L Whitsett Floresville was present at her death. Floresville friends expressed shock and many attended the funeral joining in sympathy.

Official county vote canvassed Saturday results
The Democratic County Executive Committee met on Saturday and canvassed the primary election returns. The erratic voting showed many voters selecting county and precinct officers but not state offices. Texas Aug 3 Efforts of Southwest Texas citizens begun seventeen years ago to build a paved highway from San Antonio to Corpus Christi are nearing completion. The State Highway Commission awarded S F Vann of Trinity a 30 306 contract for grading and drainage on the 5 7 mile Wilson county gap into Karnes county, and another 52 653 contract for the 10 mile Floresville to Karnes line, with option to locate west of Falls City and Hobson if right of way is not provided in 15 days. The project marks the final unpaved segment of Highway 16 on the effort to connect San Antonio and Corpus Christi.

Funeral services for Anna Margaret Griffin four died Sunday at 111 Crofton Avenue were held with Rev Wayne Cozad of St Marys Church presiding. Survived by her parents and several siblings, she was the child of Lee Griffin and Mrs Griffin and well known in Floresville. Interment followed at San Fernando Cemetery No 2.
