Firemen Treat City Council to Barbecue at White House Cafe
Floresville volunteers hosted the City Council with a barbecue at the White House Cafe at 6 30. Harvey Albert Suffers Severe Back Injury
Harvey Albert owner of the Cleaners in the city and a young businessman. He sustained a severe back injury while working cattle at his Oxford farm east of the city when his horse gave way and his bridle broke. He has been in Oxford hospital but his condition has improved and he was expected to be sent home soon.

Gorhams Return to Cibolo Farm in Wilson County
Mr and Mrs H W Gorham and family move back to their Cibolo farm near Stockdale from Corpus Christi. He was in hardware and implement business then real estate on the coast. Both active in church civic and business life. They plan to remodel their highway home between Stockdale and Sutherland Springs when materials arrive. Floresville School Band under Director Fritz Teltschik will attend the Vandercook's School of Music clinic in Seguin starting next Monday. L N Savoy Dies From Fall At Library Building Work
L N Savoy 53 died at Blake hospital Floresville after a fall from a scaffold at the new Wilson Library where he worked as a plasterer. The Washington county native, who later lived near Floresville, left a turkey farm and brick masonry trade background. He is survived by his widow, son Edward, three siblings, and his father Edward Savoy. Funeral services were held at Murray Funeral Home with burial in Floresville cemetery.

Floresville introduces a new business, Floresville Implement Company, with $15,000 capitalization, opening August 1 in a remodeled stucco building beside Floresville Motor Company. Incorporators include R L Eschenburg W Adams Fritz Nitschmann G A Hill Henry Teltschik and W J Ellinghausen. The firm holds the Wilson county Ford Ferguson System agency, stocking tractors farm implements machinery and parts. The company plans steel bins in parts and upgrades to a fully equipped service and repair department with latest facilities.

Floresville Peanut Festival, a unique Texas celebration, will return Friday and Saturday October 4-5 after a long hiatus since 1940. Leon Kreidel named president at a Tuesday meeting by the Floresville Chamber of Commerce as local groups discuss plans, dates, and procedures with participation from the American Legion, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Lions Club, Fire Department, PTA, and Veterans groups.
