Court approves tax office audit items and deputy salaries
Wilson County Commissioners Court in a special session reached a compromise on items from the county audit. The court approved the Tax Trolls submitted by G A Hill for 1935 and authorized hiring Paul Williams to recompile delinquent tax records for 1919 to 1982 at 2 percent per item and for 1933 and 1934 at 4 cents per item. The court also reviewed Hill’s salary for deputies including L Warren and others, finding $1500 per year reasonable for chief deputy and specific amounts for deputies, and noted Hill’s 1982 report certified payments accordingly.

27 600 000 Acres Switched From Basic Crops
Washington August 5 The AAA announced crop adjustment this year shifted 27 600 000 acres from basic crops into other crops. The figure compares with more than 35 000 000 acres rented in 1986. Floresville Methodist Church schedules a five night celebration from Wednesday August 28 through Sunday September 1 marking its 60th anniversary since founding in 1876.
