Little Miss Texas Terri Latimer to Represent Texas in Miss International
Terri Lynn Latimer eight year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Gerald Latimer of San Antonio will travel to Columbus Ohio this month to represent Texas in the United States Twirling Association Miss International contest. She won Little Miss Texas USTA at a San Marcos pageant and holds titles in State Primary Solo Strut and Two Baton. At Fort Worth Southern Regionals she beat 13 southern states to win Primary Strut and Two Baton. Terri spreads goodwill from Texas and Floresville exchanging peanuts themed souvenirs for Floresville Peanut Festival in October.

Local Scouts Earn Order of the Arrow Honor
Daren Sickenius and Hugh Hierholzer of Troop 114 earned the Ordeal Arrow by completing the Bear Creek Scout Reservation event near Hunt Texas. The ceremony required silence hard labor and limited food to prove courage self reliance and service to others advancing them into the Order of the Arrow.

Henry P. Mendoza marked three decades of civil service at Kelly Air Base. He earned three sustained performance awards and one outstanding achievement commendation, plus two bronze and one silver service pins for workmanship.
