LAREDO Texas Pan American Games torch will pass the International Bridge Tuesday on a 464 mile relay to Chicago Soldiers Field. A Mexican Boy Scout will hand it to a U S Scout at 7 am at the bridge. More than 3 000 Scouts will carry the flame from Mexico City to Chicago where the 1959 Games run August 27 to September 8. The Gulf Coast Council including Laredo will be represented by 100 Scouts as the torch moves to Encinital then San Antonio and Austin. The relay will cover Texas on U S Highways 81 77 3B and 69 over 714 days, entering Oklahoma at Denison August 14.

San Antonio Express reports Ida Roemer No 2 eight miles north of Floresville Wilson County was perforated at 1458 to 1466 feet. The 19 foot sand was topped at 1458 feet and side wall cored. Elevation 503 feet. Test 933 feet west of No 1 oil discovery 88 barrels. No further drilling planned for about a month while field rules are obtained and Olson family returns from Alaska.
