A beef calf tour will take place next Tuesday morning August 10 leaving the fourthouse at 8 45 A M. Seven stops will be made to inspect nine calves eight fed by Wilson County 4 H members. The July 24 Wilson county unofficial vote tally contained a typographical error in Marcelina Precinct showing 26 for Butler and 0 for Connally. The county total was correct. The Chronicle-Journal notes Edward Aldrete died June 20 in San Antonio at 62, son of the late R C Aldrete, once on Floresville farms, who trained at the Floresville Chronicle.

Floresville boasts representatives of a national insurance firm that have earned top honors. M Montes of American National Insurance, based in Galveston, won the Million Dollar Staff title during Moody Month in January 1954, following a similar win in 1953. Other Floresville-area staff members named include Stefnagee, Pleasanton, Woodson, Adams of Cotulla, Trevino of Kenedy, Richter, and Zuniga.
