Man Falls 93 Feet Escapes Serious Injury
A. R. Mohler of Sweetwater fell 93 feet from an oil derrick on the J. H. McDaniel ranch near Path last Wednesday afternoon. He landed in a slush pit, was badly bruised and shaken, but escaped serious injury with Louie Jones helping him from the pit.

Floresville Pleasanton highway project supervised with final inspection by a highway representative. Miles Construction Company Fort orth held the local contract under foreman J. W. Calhoun. Atascosa county end nearly complete with small structures finished and two large concrete spans due in two weeks. Grading at Atascosa end expected four weeks more. R. W. South Texans Demand 12c Cotton Loan at 75 Percent Level
A Robstown led delegation from South Texas urged a full 75 percent federal commodity loan and 12 cents a pound on cotton to maintain farmers buying power. Ray Leeman of the South Texas Chamber of Commerce will present the demand to federal and state officials. Delegation included Roger C. Funeral notice details the death of Dr. William Stevenson in Wichita Falls Texas on Sunday night July 31 after a brief bronchial pneumonia illness. He was buried there Tuesday and remembered as a leading Wichita Falls physician and active State Medical Society member. Born in Floresville as Charles William Stevenson he graduated from Texas University at Austin and Galveston Medical College, worked in Temple and San Antonio, moved to Wichita Falls sixteen years ago, married to Dr. Marvin Graves’ sister about twenty two years ago, and described as a fine Christian gentleman.

Tragic wreck claims two Pandora families near Lavernia
A collision between a loaded water melon truck and a coupe near Lavernia on the Lavernia Highway left Reed Montgomery Sr of Dallas and Joyce Coleman of Pandora dead. Frank Thomas 46 driver of the truck and Maria Wilder 20 were hospitalized with injuries. Sixteen months old Billy Wilder escaped with minor scratches. The truck was en route to San Meronie when the crash occurred shortly after 9 P M Wednesday.
