Austin Aug 2 Representative Wright Patman of Cass County introduced in the House a bill targeting the Ku Klux Klan. The measure, 20 lines long, makes it a crime for two or more persons acting to intimidate or hinder rights protected by law by disguising themselves on highways or premises. Penalties include a fine from 500 to 5,000 dollars or imprisonment from one to ten years, or both.

Karnes City Tex Aug 2 The Karnes City Chamber of Commerce held a luncheon at the courthouse in honor of a visit by officers of the Salesmanship Club of San Antonio. Delegation included Tom N Ethridge O Naylor Davis George R Tingle Paul H Brown and others. master of ceremonies Brown delivered the remarks.
The Publicity Committee for Wilson County Fair has set October 27 28 29 for the event. At a Wednesday meeting plans were made to issue banners placards and advertising within a week to promote the fair. Organizers say preparations promise Wilson County’s biggest ever event and urge residents to boost exposure and submit exhibits.
The Friday night event at the city school house, organized by Mr. Douglas Rhode in honor of Miss Franklin, drew about 200 attendees from San Antonio to Beecroft and La Salle. A San Antonio orchestra provided music for an evening of refined social activity.
