Wilson County reports list three traffic incidents. 1) Shannon R. Cupp of Weesatche and a passenger, northbound on TX 119, struck a deer 8.2 miles south of Stockdale at 8:45 p.m. on Friday July 21, 1995. no injuries or charges. 2) Jose A. Molina of Falls City, driving a 1988 Hyundai, left FM 541 after shifting trouble, rolled into St Johns Lutheran Cemetery fence near US 181 east of 5:10 p.m. July 15, 1995. Molina injured, four passengers uninjured. no license or insurance charges. vehicle towed. 3) Marion E. Olson, III of Stockdale, north on US 87, struck Frederick G. Hutt near Twin Oaks Drive on US 87. Olson charged with DWI first offense at 10:15 p.m. July 13, 1995.

DOE Extends Deadline for Draft Ground Water PEIS Comments
The U S Department of Energy extends the comment deadline to September 20 1995 for the Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action Ground Water Project Programmatic Environmental Impact Statements following a Navajo Nation request. Public hearings were held in June at nine locations. Copies are available in UMTRA reading rooms and libraries. The program cleans up radioactive soil and ore residues at 24 inactive sites in 10 states to contain radon and prevent groundwater contamination.
