Floresville Gets Computerized Telephone Switch by 2000
Continental Telephone delivers a digital switching center to its Floresville office with an estimated 60 day install. The digital switch uses program control and has no moving parts, promising higher reliability and lower maintenance as the system modernizes Wilson County exchanges. Plans sequence Kosciusko next year and Gillett in 1981. The Floresville Electro mechanical plant from 1974 will be dismantled to boost capacity elsewhere.
