Miss Carole Ann Flieller has been chosen by the Wilson County Peanut Growers Association to represent Wilson County at the 1973 Texas Peanut Queen Contest in Eastland Texas on August 11. Sponsored by the Texas Peanut Producers Board in cooperation with Eastland Jaycees. Carole Ann is daughter of Jerome and Mrs. Flieller Jr. of Floresville. She serves as 1972 73 Floresville Peanut Festival Queen.

Juveniles Filed On For Multiple Local Incidents
Deputy Rudy Rodriguez filed on two juveniles in Juvenile Court on Monday, July 30, for actions on July 18. Incidents included sand in gas tanks at ASCS office, defacing I D Flores Drug Co sign, sand in tractor tanks, broken headlights, cut wires at Eschenburg Imp Co, electric meter break at Navarro Radio & TV, and two bent mail boxes at the Post Office. Chief Deputy Rudy Rodriguez led the investigation with City Policeman Charles Rochester assisting.

Air Force man dies in Floresville crash near U S 181
A 10:45 p m head on collision on U S 181 seven miles north of Floresville killed 22 year old Rodolfo E Monsalvo of San Antonio. Two other San Antonio men Timothy M Roberts 20 and Ronnie L Robinson 20 were injured and evacuated to Floresville Memorial Hospital then transferred to San Antonio. Truck driver Albert Knopp of San Antonio was not hurt. Police say Monsalvo's car crossed into the truck’s lane for unexplained reasons.

Floresville High School adds Home Economics Cooperative Education program
A new HECE program at Floresville High School combines in class instruction with on the job training for juniors and seniors 16 and older. Students attend school part of the day and work at least 15 hours weekly in occupations such as child care cloth ing assistant and dietary aide. The program runs one or two years, earning two credits per year, with pay aligned to entry level wages. Miss Karrie Isbell coordinates selection placement and classroom practicals.
