County Farm Rehabilitation Office Moves to Courthouse
The County Farm Rehabilitation office, long located in the Meyer building beside the Chronicle Journal, has moved this week to the courthouse upstairs. Under County Supervisor E T Hughes, the agency now occupies the grand jury room with an adjoining jury room needed. The new quarters are ample and well arranged as over 100 farms in the county are managed through this department and a well planned program is being carried on.

Infant Daughter of Schimcek Family Dies at Three Oaks
Five day old infant daughter of Mr and Mrs Victor Schimcek of Three Oaks died at home at six o'clock Wednesday afternoon July 31 1935 after developing pneumonia shortly after birth. Funeral held at Three Oaks yesterday afternoon as Chronicle Journal extends sympathy to the family.

Extension on Route 4 Extends Daily Mail to 20 Patrons
Effective August 1 rural route No 4 from Floresville was extended about 2 miles to serve about 20 additional patrons who had petitioned the Post Office Department. W M Holcombe is carrier on this route. The new extension reaches the Ridout School community and brings daily mail to farmers previously receiving mail in Floresville and Poth.

Commissioners Court Effects Compromise With Tax Collector
In a special session the county commissioners court approved a compromised settlement with Tax Collector G. A. Hill over audit discrepancies including excess fees and deputy salaries. The court endorsed Hill’s 1935 tax roll and authorized hiring Paul Williams of Austin to recompile the delinquent list for 1919 through 1934. Full proceedings will run in Friday’s paper.
Rapid CCC Camp Construction in Floresville
Rapid progress is reported on the CCC Soil Erosion Camp at the Floresville fair grounds serving Wilson County. Contractor Johnson rushes a 13-building unit with about 60 men at work and expects practical completion next week under favorable conditions. H D Bone, superintendent, ordered an immediate start on five buildings for his branch as farmers show growing interest.

Absentee Voting Fee Update for Augusta Voters
