In Floresville Precinct No 26 a 19 member Democratic precinct convention met at City Hall last Saturday July 26 1958 at 2 00 PM. M Montes was elected permanent chairman and Sam Fore Jr was named permanent chair unanimously. Elizabeth Wiseman was elected permanent secretary. Four resolutions were adopted unanimously urging delegates to support the organization of the Democratic State Convention in San Antonio on September 9 1958 and to honor the nominations of State Democratic Executive Committee members by the Senatorial District Caucuses. The group criticized nonmember infiltration of primaries and conventions.

Wilson county records show Yarborough leading in all 26 precincts with 2385 votes to Blakley’s 1066, a countywide majority of 1319. Precinct 1 met at the courthouse July 26 1958 electing 15 delegates to the county Democratic Convention, to meet August 2 at 2 PM.
